National Association of Scholars Supports My Allegation
In May, 2018 I messaged the President of the Katy ISD School Board and informed her that I discovered some very alarming similarities between the Katy ISD Superintendent’s dissertation and Keith Rowland’s. Instead of meeting with me and quietly resolving the problem, the president ignored me, so I published my findings. Immediately after, a special meeting was called by the Katy ISD School Board, where the Superintendent announced his resignation, and the board voted 7-0 to sue me for defamation.
Unfortunately for the board, I’m not the only one who thought the similarities were alarming.
One of the most important duties of a School Board Trustee is to manage their sole employee, the Superintendent. This begins with properly vetting them in the first place. There are many individuals in this community who had unresolved issues with the former Superintendent, and had the school board merely welcomed feedback on the decision to hire him, they would have avoided much of the drama we’ve experienced over the past year.
